American Toad Anaxyrus americanus
This species lives in forests and flat grasslands and breeds in shallow pools or ponds. Preferred diet is insects and worms. For breeding, an adult returns to the same pool where it hatched. Thanks to kin recognition, the species is able to prevent incest.
