Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus)

A midsize migratory bird feeding mostly on fruits like berries. Mostly brown with white, yellow and red spots on the wings.

How to Identify

Aerodynamic shape of the head is unique for this species but can be confounded with its cousin the Cedar Waxwing. Different to the Cedar Waxwing, the main color of the Bohemian Waxwing is brown.

Where and When to Spot

Only seen during winter and early spring feeding on bushes with berries. In summer they migrate to the North for breeding.
