Description
This species lives in forests and flat grasslands and breeds in shallow pools or ponds. Preferred diet is insects and worms. For breeding, an adult returns to the same pool where it hatched. Thanks to kin recognition, the species is able to prevent incest.

Where When to Spot
If you see this species, it is more of a lucky event. American Toads are very good in hiding by adjusting their color to the environment and usually on the move. Can be found near water or far away.
