Mid-sized migratory bird loved for its intense orange colour. Feeds mostly on insects. Breeds during the warmer season in Montreal area and passes winter in Central America and Northern South-America.

To identify this species I rely on the colour and size. It is the only mid-sized intense orange bird around Montreal.

Where and When to Spot

Spring, summer and autumn in almost every park around Montreal. Density of this species is low and you may not see it on every visit to the park. Show up usually as couple in the higher branches of trees.
