Baltimore Oriole Icterus galbula
Aves > Passeriformes > Icteridae
Mid-sized migratory bird loved for its intense orange color. Feeds mostly on insects. Breeds during the warmer season in Montreal area and passes winter in Central America and Northern South-America.
To identify this species I rely on the color and size. It is the only mid-sized intense orange bird around Montreal.
Spring, summer and autumn in almost every park around Montreal. Density of this species is low and you may not see it on every visit to the park. Show up usually as couple in the higher branches of trees.
